Apple and Stem
Concept Studied : One to One Correspondence
Materials Needed: Red and green construction paper, glue, and scissors.
Procedure : Cut out red apples from construction paper. Cut out green stems and attach to apples. Set up apples and discuss them. Talk about how real apples taste and feel. Ask your child how many stems does a single apple have. Allow the child to identify that for every apple there is only one stem; point out this one-to-one relationship.
Observations to note :
How many apples are there? Where does a stem fit on an apple? How many stems does an average apple have?
